Jewelry Materials

Sterling Silver
Sterling silver, otherwise known as 925 silver, is a metal alloy commonly used in jewelry making. It is composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper to enhance the natural properties of the precious metal. The naming convention and stamp “925” therefore refers to the silver content in an ingot or a piece of jewelry.

Gold plated Sterling Silver
It is the process of using silver and first bathing it in white rhodium and yellow bronze (to improve shine, adhesion and color). And then plate it in gold, layers of 1 and 2 microns of 14 and 18 carat gold.

Gold plating
Gold plating is applied to metals such as silver, bronze or copper, making the jewelry look like gold when in reality what they have is a thin layer. The plating process is electromagnetic or chemical.Gold layers are generally not applied directly to the main metal, to extend its durability and improve color. For gilding, an intermediate metal or alloy (rhodium, bronze...) is applied before the microns of gold. Some of our pieces indicate this process is marked as 14K and 18K.

Stainless Steel Gold plated
Stainless steel is a type of jewelry that has a thin layer of gold applied to the surfaces. Gold is usually applied through a process called electroplating. The advantage of using stainless steel as a base metal is that it is very strong and durable.

Zirconia
Cubic zirconia is a type of jewelry made of a crystalline and synthetic substance and is used as a cheaper alternative, unlike diamonds and other gems. Cubic Zirconia is a man-made substance, and not a mineral. The clarity of the crystal and its brilliance make it a great alternative to diamonds at a low cost. A cubic zirconia is difficult to differentiate with the naked eye from a real diamond; this is because they are made of white colors shiny to look like diamonds, although they can also be made with other colors.
